North America Payroll Manager

As part of our global accounting organization, the XILINX North America Payroll Manager is responsible for overseeing the payroll process and ensuring timely and accurate recording and management of all US and Canadian payroll related activities.

This position will be responsible for the semi-monthly/bi-weekly payroll functions in the U.S. and Canada.


A Process:

  • Maintain good working relationships with internal and external business partners
  • Day-to-day oversight of the payroll processing team
  • Responsible for payroll accuracy and timeliness
  • Process timely and accurate garnishments
  • Process employee transfers / expats / shadow payrolls by working with Global Tax Network
  • Review and approve reconciliations of payroll related balance sheet accounts and related journal entries
  • Responsible for accurate year-end payroll close and W-2, T-4, RL-1 processing
  • Provide support to company annual proxy filing
  • Ensure 100% compliance with existing internal controls and that all process documentation is maintained accurately and up to date
  • Manage payroll related audits

B. Continuous Improvement and Projects

  • Prepare payroll scorecard on key payroll metrics identifying process opportunities
  • Continuously identify and develop solutions for process efficiency improvements to improve productivity
  • Implement New Payroll Software system
  • Be a key stakeholder on HR Systems and Time Management integration projects including scope, design and development of SAP including interfaces to payroll systems


  • Minimum 10 years of managing a US multi-state and Canada multi-province payroll department
  • Deep working knowledge of payroll software platforms, including ADP payroll systems
  • Proven project management experience in HR & Payroll systems implementations is a must
  • Working knowledge of Oracle & SAP System for HR, Time / Labor and General Ledger
  • Excellent problem solving / judgement skills, and high level of attention to detail and accuracy
  • Confidence and ability to work independently with little supervision in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience in leading and managing teams
  • Company Stock programs experience
  • Working experience of payroll tax at the federal, state and local levels
  • Proven integrity to handle confidential and sensitive information with complete discretion;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent organization skills, ability to handle multiple priorities within deadlines is required
  • Proficient in Excel, Word and Outlook
